Charles Tandy Thompson, 84, of Farmersburg, passed away on December 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Sullivan County on August 13, 1935 to Garland Thompson and Edna Marie (Clark) Thompson. Tandy was a 1953 graduate of Farmersburg High School and had become a Union Carpenter. He attended Friendship Baptist Church, loved wood turning, gardening and an avid reader. Preceding him in death are his parents, a son in-law Charles Rambis, and sister in-law Janet Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Delores (Myles) Thompson, whom he married on August 13, 1955; sons, Bruce (Diana) Thompson of Farmersburg, Charles “Chuck” Tandy II (Lisa) Thompson of Farmersburg, Daughters, Roma Rambis of Wilfred, Vickie (Larry) Neal of Poolesville MD, sister Joyce (Jerry) Boyll of Farmersburg, brothers David (Kathy) Thompson of Brazil, Allan Thompson of Farmersburg, half brother Jim (Laura) Thompson of Deluth GA, half brother John of Ohio, grandchildren, Jennifer O’Connor, Chris Rambis, Jessica Davenport, Lindsay Albee, Jeremy Pesch, Kyle Hall, Bradley Thompson, Morgan Thompson and 21 great grandchildren, several nieces nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday December 20, 2019 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Larger officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
