Obituary

 

Darren Knowles, 52, of Sullivan passed away on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.  He was born in Groton Connecticut on October 8, 1968 to Richard Lee Knowles and Kathryn (Dean) Knowles, Rosebraugh.  Darren was a Navy Veteran having served during Desert Storm and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union local 20. He was a member of the Hymera 1st Baptist Church, former commander of the Hymera American Legion, loved to draw, paint and listen to country music. He loved his family, friends and fishing.  preceding him in death was his father.

 

Surviving are his mother, his daughters, Sarah (James) Maak, Darien Knowles and her companion J Keller, Tarah Knowles and her companion Bubba Williamson, brothers Dennis (Tammy) Knowles, Tommy (Teri Sue) Knowles, his soul mate Nessa Knowles, 9 grandchildren 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

 

Services to celebrate his life will be on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hymera First Baptist Church with Lynn Ivy officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.  Military honors will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Sullivan, 32 South Court St. Suit D, Sullivan IN 47882.   Burial will take place at Clabourn Cemetery at a later date.
