Don Cairy Littlejohn, 81, of Shelburn, passed away on August 10, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in
Vigo County on August 5, 1939 to Verlin (Buster) Littlejohn and Marian (Rawles) Littlejohn. Don was a 1957 graduate of Shelburn High School and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Pharmacy in June 1962. He joined the Public Health Service and served in Bethesda, MD at the National Institute of Health. Next he was in Charleston, SC with the Army Core of Engineers. In 1965 he purchased Littlejohn’s Rexall Drugstore in Shelburn from his father. In 1983 he closed the drugstore and worked in various retail pharmacies, retiring after 15 years at Walmart in Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lila Livingston.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cynthia (Payne) Littlejohn, a son Cairy, and a daughter Kim, grandchildren Peter, Graham and Sophie Littlejohn, Catherine and Heidi Schuster, his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Roger Levell, a brother-in-law Jack Livingston, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many of his fishing and hunting friends who shared his love for the outdoors.
Cremation was chosen and a celebration of his life will be at a later date. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
