Dorothy Louise Padgett, 86, of Farmersburg, passed away on February 1, 2022 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute on December 22, 1935 to James Little and Alta (Frakes) Little. Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Blackhawk High School. She proudly worked at the Meis Department Store for over 25 years, serving as a bridal consultant and store clerk. Dorothy was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, of which she thoroughly enjoyed very much helping with the children's program. She was also a regular volunteer at the Sullivan Community Hospital for many years. Dorothy especially loved doing yard work, cutting grass, tending to her flowers and spending time with her family and friends after regularly cooking Sunday dinners for family gatherings. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her friends as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in 1989 after 34 years of marriage, her brothers Lawrence Little, James Little, Raymond Little, Bill Little and her sisters Lois Glenn, Patsy Stasen.
Survivors include her daughter Cathy (William "Dink") Schofield and two sons Jac (Lynn) Padgett, Brian (Lori) Padgett. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday February 7, 2022 at Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan with Revs. Don Ransford and Jeff Blanset officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
