George Dale Owen

George Dale Owen, 75, of Farmersburg, passed away on June 19, 2021 at Springhill Village in Terre Haute. He was born in Vigo County on August 24, 1945 to Oscar and Myrtle (Garrison) Owen.  Dale was a 69-year member of the Oregon Baptist church, loved mushroom hunting and was a Taxidermist.  He and his wife, Helen, also attended Union Baptist Church. Dale retired from Eli Lilly after twenty-two years of service as a chemical operator (1981-2003). He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Helen (Sconce) Owen, son Dale Owen, Jr., daughter Amy (Sean) Wilson, step son Tony (Karen) Randall, step daughters Diana Randall and Stephanie (Scott) Mitchell, sisters Marcella Richmond (Don), Elaine Lippeatt (Stephen), and Carol Owen, grandchildren; Autumn (Kyle) Atterson, Erica Owen, Gabbriella Owen, Tripp Wilson, Madeline Wilson, and Kendall Wilson, 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

Services for Dale will be on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Oregon Baptist Church at 11200 S. Carlisle Street in Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor Jim Larger officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00pm until time of service.  Holmes Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
