Harold “Jim” Copeland passed through the Golden Gates of Heaven on October 4, 2021, after a battle with Lung Cancer.
Born May 17, 1943, Jim was the son of Harold and Martha Copeland.
He was married on July 22, 1982, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Marsha Ann Copeland, who preceded him in death.
Jim spent most of his career working for EDS. After leaving EDS, he worked in management for CVS where he retired and spent time volunteering at a local hospital in Sebastian, Florida.
He was a longtime member of River of Life Christian Church, formerly Ninth Street Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Jim was an avid racing fan. He loved Nascar and the Indy 500. Even after moving to Florida he would return home each year for both the Brickyard 400 and the Indianapolis 500.
Surviving are two daughters, Shannon Barrett and Kellie Combs; one son, Kurt Timberman; special friend, Dawn Durling; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jack Barrett, Josh and Allie Combs, Jarred, Faith and Riley Timberman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 12, 2021, at Holmes Memorial Chapel, 642 W Silver St. Sullivan IN, 47882, with Rev. Dawn Black officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.
