Jack Earl Hunt, 85, of Foley AL formerly of Sullivan and Evansville, IN passed away on August 12, 2022, at his home in Foley where he was being cared for by his son Jon. Jack was born on November 9, 1936, in Sullivan, IN, to James Julius Hunt and Margaret (Condon) Hunt. He was a 1954 graduate of Sullivan High School and had attended Indiana State University, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Fraternity. He was also an Army Veteran where he was stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO.
Jack met the love of his life, Barbara Jane Storey, on the high-dive at Shakamack State Park; they both attended Sullivan High School where he competed in football, basketball, and track. Jack worked at his wife’s family business; Storey Beverages, in Sullivan before joining Eckrich Meats as a salesman until he retired in 1985. He then sold automobiles for Ford Motor Company. He became an active member of the Foley United Methodist Church after retiring to Foley with wife Barbara in 2004. One of his favorite pastimes was restoring automobiles, especially with his son Jon Jeffrey Hunt, who preceded him in death the day before his passing. Also preceding him in death are his wife Barbara Jane Hunt, in 2007, and his siblings James Frederick Hunt, Richard Hunt, and Gloria Hunt Cooper.
Survivors include his daughter Lora Ann (Hunt) Goudreau, son in-law Steven M. Goudreau, and grandchildren, Kyle M. Goudreau, Tyler A. Goudreau, and Kelsey E. Goudreau.
Services for Jack Earl Hunt and his son Jon Jeffrey Hunt, will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 20, 2022 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Cox officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard.
