John Marvin Ellington, slipped peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born January 1,1949 in Brazil IN to John and Nila Ellington. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School, later continuing his education at Vincennes University. On April 30, 1993, he married his best friend and loving wife Cathy Griffith Ellington.

John owned and operated various businesses through the years, including Ellington Pest Control, landscaping and also Ellington Heating and Air. He also provided a delivery service for Chickadaunce Kawasaki. John held the office of Sullivan City Councilman, and prided himself on helping to better the city of Sullivan and those who call it home. He had a love for dirt bikes, and was an adrenaline junky for speed on one. He enjoyed boats and spent hours in his shop building his own wooden speed boat, and tinkering with any kind of engine. He also obtained his pilot's license.

John was a loving and kind man to all he met, he believed in treating people with respect and kindness.
