Judith (Judy) Kay Kennedy, 74, of Sullivan, passed away on Monday June 22, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Sullivan on January 21, 1946 to Frank Harold Huff and Frances “Toots” (Cramer) Huff. She was a 1964 graduate of Sullivan High School and had gone to Indiana State University where she received her degree in Education.
After retiring from the Sullivan County Welfare office, she joined her husband and son running the White River Campground in Cotter AK. While not helping out with the campground, Judy enjoyed substitute teaching. After her son and husband’s passing she returned to her home town of Sullivan. She was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church, loved to sew and quilt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Edward Kennedy, and her son John Michael Kennedy.
Survivors include her brother Jerry Huff of Sullivan, a sister Jane Wolfe and her husband Nathan of Shelburn, nephews James (Candace) Wolfe, Douglas Wolfe and several other family and friends.
Services will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan on Thursday June 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Revs. Bret Cox and Ron Riggs officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 24, 2020 from 4-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
