Mona Margaret Bedwell, 88, Sullivan, known by many as “Moggie”, died at Breckenridge in Sullivan surrounded by her family.
She was born August 16, 1930 in Sullivan County to Nolan and Leah Hughs Arnold Bedwell. She was a co-owner and operator of the Knotty Pine Restaurant, a supervisor for H.W. Gossard Co., a lifelong seamstress, expert maker of fine candies and deserts, caregiver to parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was retired from Perdue Farms and a member of the Westside Church of Christ. She was the Salutatorian of her Dugger High School graduating class.
Moggie was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Wayne, Don, Chuck, Rollie and Wes Bedwell, Sr; and 5 sisters, Lois Cox, Phyllis Kinnaman, Charlotte Ann Bedwell, Mary Bedwell and Thelma Mehay.
Survivors include sisters-in-law; Jeanette Bedwell and Betty Bedwell; many nieces and nephews and was like a grandmother to Jan (and Mike) Bedwell Clidienst, Wes (and Michele) Bedwell, Jr, Curt (and Tonya) Bedwell and Mike (and Cathy) Mehay.
Funeral services are at 11:00 am Saturday at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Ministers, Wes and Curt Bedwell officiating. Burial is at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Pleasantville, IN. Family visitation is 9:00 to 9:30 am Saturday. Open visitation will be from 9:30 until the start of the service.
