Robert Van Sant, 76, of Graysville, passed away on Sunday December 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in South Bend IN., on January 25, 1943 to Dorence Van Sant and Doris (Harstine) Van Sant. Robert was a 1961 graduate of Carlisle High School, had been employed at Duke Energy for 31.5 years and owner of the Goody House Pizza from 1993 until 2013. He had been a member of the Elks Lodge, the Rinky Dinks Golf League, The Emanuel Church and a Volunteer at the Carlisle Prison Plus Unit. Proceeding him in death are his parents Dorence, Frances (step mother) Van Sant, Fred (step father) Dorris Shepler, a sister Barbara Hughes, and a brother Bobby Van Sant.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Priscilla (Hayes) Van Sant whom he married on August 20, 1965, daughters Tina (Brad) Abrams, Tammy (Joe) Bell, son Jason (Angie) Van Sant, grandchildren Cari (Matt) Drake, Caleb (Ameila) Abrams, Ashley (Logan) Arnett, Morgan Bell, Jaydon Van Sant, Christian Smith, Jordan Pounds, great grandchildren, Kyler Streeter, Layla Drake, Rylan Arnett, Bennet Abrams, brothers, Jim (Sue) Van Sant, sisters, Valerie (Larry) Drake, Jeannine (John) Gore, Denise Van Sant, several Nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Bailey officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. It was Robert’s request that friends and family be in comfortable Golfing attire. The family suggest that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund 34 Washington Street, Suite 200, Wellesley Hills MA 02481 or Camp Illiana Youth Camp 317 E Jackson St. Sullivan 47882. Envelopes will be at the Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and their Staff. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery.
