Robert E. “Bob” Adams, 86, of Fairbanks, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at home. He was born in Sullivan County on September 3, 1937, to Clinton Clay and Bonnie Naomi (Pound) Adams.
Bob was a 1955 graduate of Graysville High School. After graduation, he was proud to serve his Country in the US Army Reserves. Bob retired from Pillsbury Company and First Financial Bank in Terre Haute. He worked in his retirement years for Ceres Solutions.
Bob was a former member of the Men's Riverview Club, Member of the White River Valley Antique Tractor Association and belonged to the Shelburn American Legion. Bob served on the 4-H Council and was a 4-H Leader. Bob loved to attend Tractor Pulls and restore antique tractors. He loved to spend time with family and following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting and 4-H events.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sue Strain Adams, on December 30, 2021, his parents; sisters, Sharon Wentz, Connie Adams and brother -in-law, Larry Zaayer.
Survivors include sons, Darin (Penny) Adams, Michael (Missy) Adams, Jamie (Martha) Adams; daughters, Lisa (Mark) Perry, Lori Stone, Amy (Paul) Mansfield; grandchildren, Dustin (Olivia) Adams, Lauren (Joey) Kean, Heather Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Travis (Craig) Robbins, Justin Stone, Megan Stone, Cody (Maria) Adams, Cale (Aubrey) Adams, Anna (Will) Morrison, Sean Morrison and Jacob Adams; great-grandchildren, Jayce (Mackenzie) Jimenez, Emmy Adams, Lydia Adams, Logan Kean, Luke Kean, Myla Adams; great-great grandchild, Adeline Jimenez; step-grandchildren, Brooke (Jason) Mullins, Dustin (Alaina) Perry, Josh (Chelsea) Mansfield, Emily (David) Townsend; several step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, one sister, Mary Ann (Jay) Ferguson and brother in-law, Lee Wentz along with extended family and friends.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis Alstott officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pogue Cemetery, Fairbanks. Military honors will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard.
