Obituary

Terry Grabbe, 72, of Sullivan, passed away on Friday February 7, 2020 at his residence. He was born inVincennes, on November 22, 1947 to Noble Grabbe and Anna (Harris) Grabbe.  He was a 1966 graduate of Sullivan High School, was a United States Marine Veteran and had worked for and retired from GTE and Verizon.  Terry was a member of the VFW Sullivan post, Sullivan American Legion, Sullivan Moose and a recipient of the Purple Heart and a Presidential Honor Merit Award. Preceding him in death are his father, his sister Kay and his wife Carolyn (Geatches) Grabbe. 

 

Survivors include his mother, a daughter Shawna Beard and her fiancé Kevin Garner of IL., grandchildren Tyler Beard,Taryn Beard, and great granddaughter Renley Ficklin-Beard. His sister Rita (Paul) Wolfe, nieces Karen ( Jeff) Lawson and Tammy Wall and several great nieces and nephews as well as his bonus family of Rhonda ( Kenny) Himebrook, Danny Ray Geatches and Mike Geatches and several bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

 

Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 21, 2020 at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, with the Sullivan County Honor guard giving Military Rites.  A celebration of life will held on the same day at Sullivan Moose Lodge following services.  Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with Arrangements.
