Tom Leslie Gadberry

Thomas Leslie “Tom” Gadberry, 86 of Sullivan, Entered into eternal life on Friday, November 10, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Tom was born March 28, 1937 in Sullivan IN to John Everette and Hazel Rumple Gadberry. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and joined the Army Reserves after graduation. He married his high school sweet heart Mary Jeanette Garrard on August 24, 1957.  Tom retired from General Telephone, December of 1993, after 30 years of service, Then went on to work for First Financial Bank as maintenance man after retirement.

Tom was a dedicated family man, making sure his family was well taken care of.  He was always “Mr. Fixit” to the family. You could call him and he came with a smile and his huge tool pouch to be ready for anything that might be the problem. He loved just tinkering around the house and enjoyed being outdoors mowing the lawn.  

Preceding him in death are his parents, John and Hazel Gadberry; infant son, Matthew Gadberry; brothers, John Gadberry and Richard Ray “Dickie” Gadberry.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Mary Garrard Gadberry; brothers, Danny (Rhea Dawn) Gadberry, Steve (Pam) Gadberry and sister-in-law  Carolyn Gadberry,Sons, Leslie Gadberry and Benjamin (Natasha) Gadberry, along with grandchildren, Izaac, Arielle, Amelia, Samuel, Daniel.

Visitation will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel on  Tuesday November 14, 2023 from 11:00 am. until 1:00 pm. Services will be at 1:00 pm. with David Cox officiating.  Military honors will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. He will be laid to rest at Center Ridge Cemetery.
