Tom Scott 74, of Carlisle passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was born in Henderson KY., on December 11, 1946 to Thomas and Ann (Darrow) Scott. Tom was a 1966 graduate of Sullivan High School and was an Army Veteran having served in the 11th Armored Calvary. He was a mechanic in the Sullivan County area for over 40 years, became a family man that just cared greatly for his wife, children, grandchildren and the great- grandchildren. He was a member of the Sullivan American Legion, Life member of the VFW, and had attended the Followers of Christ Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Gloria Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 32 year Carolyn (Hope) Scott whom he married on May 7, 1988, children Mike (Michelle) Jones, Laurie (Jeff) Daugherty, Samantha (Jeff) Miller, Kara (Matt) Gerstman, brothers, Tim (Patty) Scott, Lloyd Scott a sister Darlene Baker, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with pastor Glen Archer officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
